Volunteer with ICSL

ICSL could not exist without our volunteers! They're the fuel that keeps us running. We'd love for you to join our volunteer family! Many opportunities exist Monday - Saturday in our food pantry and our United Way House. We're also an approved service-learning and community service site for FGCU and other colleges and high schools. **(Please note that we cannot offer court-ordered community service hours for anyone 18 or older). Check out some of our opportunities below!

Pantry Helpers

Pantry helpers work behind the scenes to receive, sort, and stock donations as they come in.

Baggers

Baggers put together bags of non-perishable items for our clients. Each week the food in the bags will change to provide our clients with a variety of products.

Runners

Runners gather the perishable and non-perishable items together and take them out to our clients' cars.

Store Pickup Drivers

Volunteers are needed to pickup and transport donations to our food pantry. Most pickups are from local stores such as Publix, Sprouts, Aldi, Target, Walmart, and Costco and are scheduled for early to mid morning. You may also become certified to drive our van. (Requires valid driver's license and insurance).

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

Volunteers are needed from January - April to prepare income tax returns for taxpayers who earn less than $70,000 per year. IRS certification training is provided. Training begins in November/December.

Free Summer Lunch for Kids

From the end of the school year through mid August, ICSL serves lunch to the children in our community on Monday - Friday from 11:30am - 12:30pm. Each day volunteers serve meals (prepared by the Lee County School District) and engage the children with activities - arts and crafts, board games, story-time.
